Is there worry in your journey? Do you wake up in the night with your mind racing, worrying about the future or do you spend time frequently reliving past mistakes where your mind replays the past like a movie that’s just stuck on rewind? Does it take up a significant amount of your mental and your emotional energy? Making it hard for you to just relax and enjoy your life?
Worry and anxiety: they’re one of our biggest distractions from living in and enjoying the present moment. Whenever I indulge these distractions I find that Thich Nhat Hanh’s quote is so true. Because worry and anxiety, those things just don’t allow me to live the moments of my daily life deeply. Isn’t deep living really where joy and significance live? Join me today for these four steps to disrupting worry and anxiety.
“The first step here in disrupting worry is to get yourself thinking about the issue in terms of what you can control about it and/or what you have direct influence over.” — Kelly Bennett [0:07:52.1]
“A lot of times, the things we worry about are built up in our minds as monsters.” — Kelly Bennett [0:08:53.1]
“Every second spent worrying about a past or future moment, distracts us from what is important in the here and now.” — Greg McKeown [0:22:15.1]
“Instead of wasting another minute of your time and another minute of your energy on worrying about that thing, do yourself a favor and work the worry out.” — Kelly Bennett [0:10:24.1]
